Tamara Dreger is currently the Districe Executive of Golden Arrow District. It has been decided that the Northern Lights District and Golden Arrow District will becoming one district. The decision was made by the two Districts and has already been approved by the Council. The consilidation will start from the begining of 2019. Starting from June , 2018, the two district leadership will involve each other's activities, although the actiities are still organized by individual district. From now on Tamara will cover Northern Lights business as well.

Rone Settele, our District Executive since 2013, left the psition at the end of April due to his family moving to Austin. We appreciate Ron's contribution for the Northern Lights District during his tenure. The searching for a new District Executive is underway. Jordan Ray, Field Director for the North Metro Service Area, will be supporting Northern Lights until a new District Executive comes onboard.  His email address is jordan.ray@scouting.org.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to him.

District Committee

The Northern Lights District Committee is responsible for carrying out four standard functions in support of units within the district: membership, finance, program, and unit service.

The membership function strives for growth through the organization of new Scouting units and growth through new members joining existing units.

The finance function ensures that the district provides its fair share of funds to the total council operating budget.

The program function concentrates on helping Scouting units with camp promotion; special activities, including community service; training adult volunteers; and youth advancement and recognition.

The unit service function provides direct coaching and consultation by district volunteers for unit adults to help ensure the success of every Scouting unit.

The membership, finance, and program functions are carried out by members of the district committee. The unit service function is carried out by the commissioner staff.
